Picture Gallery

In 1997 I began to scan all pictures I had taken over the last 10 years or so. So far there are about 3000 pictures in my archive. They are organized in shows with specific topics. A show may, for instance, contain all pictures of a particular person, a town, or a vacation. In some cases I also included pictures that were given to me by other people. In most cases the original photograper is mentioned. In case you find a missing reference to a photographer, please, let me know.

Right now I'm implementing a slide show application which will make the shows available on several providers on the internet. The application consists of Python scripts running on my server at home. They handle incoming requests for shows coded into e-mail messages. Whenever there is space available on one of the providers the scripts will automatically upload all pictures of a requested show and thus make them available. The person who requested the show will be notified by e-mail.

The second part of the application is an applet consisting of several Java classes that will organize the pictures in a browser in nice way. There has been a beta version available since November 2000.

In order to protect the privacy of my family, friends, and colleagues, access to all pictures showing people will be restricted by password. Please, write me e-mail if you don't have it yet.
